Course Description: Directed toward Spanish majors preparing for their Capstone experience, this course aims to guide the student in the process of completing a capstone proposal and initiating the preliminary steps toward the graduation ePortfolio. The ePortfolio provides evidence that a student is making satisfactory progress toward meeting the Core requirements and Major Learning Outcomes (MLOs) for the Spanish B.A.
Course Narrative: In this course, we were able to create our capstone groups and begin organizing our ideas for the final project. We learn different ways to search in the library databases for reliable sources for the project. Once we had our groups, it was important to meet with our advisors to develop an idea for our projects, once we had an idea we met with our advisors about every 2 weeks to continue with the development of our project. We began to read and analyze the sources we found to create our research questions that will help us go in the right direction with our project and form our thesis. This course is essential for the beginning of our process in regards to our Capstone project and it helps us be prepare for the next semester. By the end of the semester we have a template of our research paper and how we will organize our presentations. Throughout the course we also continued to work in our ePortfolio and completes all the incomplete sections as we got through the semester. This course fulfills the requirements of MLO 6 Research and Technology, within this course we develop different ways to research based on a certain topics, most importantly we learned how to search, find, and analyze technology-based resources to develop and produce our own projects.
