Course Narrative: Through this course, I was able to gain more knowledge about the educational system and the controversial issues that affect many of the students. With the use of assigned readings, presentations, videos and articles about current events, we were able to learn about the history of educational system, discrimination, segregation, inequality, etc. Through the presentations, we all learn about different techniques we can possibly use when we become teachers in the future, while taking into consideration all the problems and responsibilities that are part of a teacher's career. The most important activity we did in this course was the interviews of each student, with the interviews we were able to learn more about each other and our life. Everyone shared their most personal moments of their life with the class, everyone showed pictures of their families and ultimately we learned that all of us have our own unique stories which is what made the class very diverse in every way. I truly enjoyed taking this class, my classmates and professor made the class environment fun and comfortable which made this class even better. This course was the first course I took to complete my minor in education, I'm very glad I chose this class to complete the 12 units required to obtain the education minor.
