Reflective Narrative: WLC 300 Major Seminar, WLC 300 Pre-Capstone, WLC 400 Capstone relative to Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures
To fulfill this MLO, I took the following courses: WLC 300 Pre-Capstone, WLC 300 Major Seminar, WLC 400 Capstone. In WLC 300 I began to do different types of research to become more familiarize so that I could be prepared for Capstone.Through the WLC 300 Major Seminar course, I learned about important information I will need in order to succeed and meet all the requirements of the Spanish Language and Hispanic Culture program. I learned about the opportunities of studying abroad, attending graduate school, how to create a resume and personal statement. All of this will be included in the e-portfolio which will also include all of the classes I've taken at CSUMB and how each one fulfills all of the MLOs. Also, the professors spent plenty of time explaining the process of creating your capstone project and the e-portfolio. With the help of the professors, we are continuing to work on everything to keep up all the project necessary to obtain a B.A degree in Spanish Language and Hispanic Culture. One of the goals is to constantly revise our e-portfolio to make sure we have all of the course narratives and every other page to have a complete e-portfolio. In the WLC 300 Pre-Capstone course, we were able to create our capstone groups and begin organizing our ideas for the final project. We learn different ways to search in the library databases for reliable sources for the project. Once we had our groups, it was important to meet with our advisors to develop an idea for our projects, once we had an idea we met with our advisors about every 2 weeks to continue with the development of our project. We began to read and analyze the sources we found to create our research questions that will help us go in the right direction with our project and form our thesis. This course is essential for the beginning of our process in regards to our Capstone project and it helps us be prepare for the next semester. By the end of the semester we have a template of our research paper and how we will organize our presentations. Throughout the course we also continued to work in our ePortfolio and completes all the incomplete sections as we got through the semester. Finally, in the WLC 400 Capstone course we continued working on our Capstone project and finalizing our ePortfolio. With the help of our WLC professor and our advisor, we were able to continue our research and analyze our resources as we worked on our research paper and capstone presentation. We often scheduled meetings with our advisors to receive feedback on our work and to simply ask for more help if needed. Through our ePortfolio, we are able to show all the courses we have taken to complete our undergraduate education and other work part of the Spanish Language and Hispanic Culture major. This semester our priority was to continue to analyze resources to make sure we answered our research questions and we came to a clear conclusion.
